Description
Profile Crank Installation tool 2 sizes
The Profile Crank Installation tool helps to install the Profile 48 Spline crank arms onto the Profile GDH 48 Spline crank axle. This tool pulls the arms on the crank axle most of the way. Install and tighten cranks arm bolts to pull the arms on completely. Use the axle anti-seize grease on the splines prior to the install. Make sure you put the right size spacer inside the BB between the bearings. The point is to not crush the bearings when tightening the arms. If the cup sticks out 1mm from flush with the frame, its no problem.
The new Profile cranks come with the Gun Drilled Hollow axle so you need the GDH Tool. GDH is a widered thread in your axle. Profile cranks can be very difficult to install onto the Profile axle (spindle) so this tool is needed. Profile cranks do include this tool when you buy a new set.
Id you have the older Profile axle then you need the Older tool that fits a smaller threaded hole. The older tool size also fits new Bullseye crank axles.
