Pricy, but does the job
I purchased one of these range extenders to use with a Cannondale Tesoro Neo SL EQ and a Topstone Neo SL 2. Simply mount the plastic holder where a water bottle mount would go and connect the cable to the bike. The Mahle app for Cannondale tells the state of charge of the bike battery and this extended battery as a percentage. So to the other review, it must be an Orbea problem if the range extender percentage does not show. As the other reviewer states, this seems to charge the internal battery and the internal battery drives the motor. I noticed that the Range Extender was getting drained first, and the bike stayed relatively charged around 90%. Once the range extender got to maybe 30%, then the bike battery started to deplete and the range extender seemed like it didn't change. It seems pretty intelligent with the usage to keep the batteries within a certain level. It adds a bit of weight to your bike, I'm only going to bring it on those days I know I will need it, cycling over 50 miles or so. Very pricy for what it is, but no real alternatives unless you want to solder, hack, and risk shorting the entire system.
